The changing weather and winds of autumn can dry out skin and hair, leaving a dull complexion, and frizzy tresses. As skin loses some of that summer glow, and color palettes shift to deeper hues, many women often find that even finding the right color to wear which will compliment their complexion, can be a challenge. However, some fabulous fall tips can help. N.Y. stylist and fashion consultant, Christina Kelly, shares three fashion and beauty tricks to treat yourself to this fall.

  1. Use Pumpkin to rejuvenate facial skin The autumn can wreak havoc on skin. Changing temperatures and the wind can cause drying, flaking and cracking of the skin. It’s the perfect time of year to give your face a little rejuvenating lift. Pumpkins and pumpkin seeds are loaded with alpha hydroxy acids, Vitamins A, E and C, zinc, and fatty acids. These vital elements promote cell turnover to brighten and smooth skin, soften skin and boost collagen production, and regulate skin’s oil production. Purchase some pumpkin face cream or a mask to bring back healthy youthful skin this autumn. To make a pumpkin mask, combine pumpkin puree, raw egg, some honey, and a splash of apple cider.
  1. Cinnamon, honey and olive oil for your hair To combat autumn frizz, dry hair, and dullness, mix cinnamon, honey, and olive oil together and warm in a hot water bath by placing a small bowl of the ingredients in a larger bowl of hot water. Once warmed, apply to locks from the root to the tip and let sit for 1-3 hours, then wash out well with warm water and conditioner if desired. This hair trick can restore luster to fall hair, add a glossy sheen, smooth frizz, and even promote hair growth.
  1. Add some pumpkin spice to your wardrobe Pumpkin spice is one of the hottest colors to wear this fall. Lucky for us, the color compliments all skin types. This warm autumn hue is everywhere this fall and should be added to everyone’s wardrobe. When it feels impossible to find that perfect color outfit that makes your complexion look its best, look no further than this wardrobe trick for a look that glows.
